The older Land Rovers use BMW-derived EWS3 and EWS4 electronics with HU92R and NE71R blades, the Freelander runs NE75 with ID46, the Defender takes the LF10 key, and the modern range uses JLR proximity keys. Four different systems under one badge, so the year matters more than the model.
Programming happens over OBD with brand-specific equipment. On many models we can add a key without the original, and where every key is gone we erase the old set and code a new one.

The L322 runs EWS3 with a PCF7935 chip on HU92R, later cars EWS4 with ID46. Proximity key on the newest ones.

LF10 key with remote, both the 1997 to 2015 cars and the later PCF7953 version.
L314 on NE75 with ID46 or PCF7935; the L359 uses a dash remote key with ID46 on HU101.
