Mercedes uses the FBS immobiliser family. FBS2 covers the older Sprinter and Vito, FBS3 the W169 and W204 era with a Slot Key read over infrared, FBS4 the recent cars. The generation decides how long the job takes and what we need from you, so we ask for the VIN before quoting.
Programming happens over OBD with brand-specific equipment. On many models we can add a key without the original, and where every key is gone we erase the old set and code a new one.

W169 uses a Slot Key on FBS3, read over infrared. The W176 from 2012 is FBS4.
Remote key on FBS. The old W202 still uses an infrared key on the HU64 blade.

W901 to W905 and the W906 both run FBS2 remotes. Van keys are one of our regular jobs here.

In most cases yes. We read the car ourselves and code the key at your address. FBS4 cars are the exception and we tell you that on the phone rather than after we arrive.
Not really. The W906 Sprinter runs FBS2 and the work is similar to a passenger car. Duplicate from €50, new key from €80, all keys lost from €150.
On W169 and W245 the Slot Key fails often, and it is not always the cell. We test the key first, then the reader in the dash. Sometimes it is the slot, not the key.
